I have been reading all over the Internet about the amount of radiation that can be found on the east coast. Curiosity got the best of me. I made this purchase to see for myself if this were true. The comments about comparing it to much more expensive radiation detectors helped me decide to make this purchase. I am not an engineer, scientist or one who would have much knowledge about radiation detectors. I use the detector to test air, water, food products and whatever else comes to mind. So far, I haven't seen anything that causes alarm. So, it gives me some peace of mind. I reside in Newark, New Jersey area.

Amazing device for the price. Does everything I would want it to. I put it through a number of tests and it performed beautifully. I did tests of known sources. Performed well. I even tested radioactivity from banana, avocado, and nuts. It registered greater than background radiation for those items which one would expect.ht

Once news hit that President Trump has make it legal to dump Coal mining waste into streams and rivers, I bought myself an Epalab geiger counter to have around the house, seemed like a decent product. Works as advertised. Would buy again.
